Ultimate Crab Battle is a little online flash game that seems to be simple by concept – you have to defeat one crab in a one on one battle. However, the size of a crab as compared to your hero is massive. That makes this game quite interesting. As well as the cool tricks the king crab has to offer.
The set up of the story line is an underwater kingdom where the everlasting wars between crabs and sharks take place. We join the story in the climax of the war, when the sharks attempt to defeat crabs once and for all and destroy the King Crab. With the help of a human boy a shark equiped with heavy weaponry goes to the battle to save the world and defeat the evil crab. We control the boy riding the shark which can shoot at the crab and move in 4 directions.
The game features some heavy soundtrack and sound effects. They fit well with the whole “greatness” theme of the game. The visuals remind me of the old 2D fighting games, especially those made on the Mugen platform. The gameplay also resembles those games a little.
The gameplay is not complicated, all you have to do is avoid the crab’s missiles, minions and everything he sends your way and shoot at him. The game has 3 difficulty levels. The easiest level is quite tough to beat without burning a few lives, but we have several of them so it’s not so difficult to beat the game in the first try. To beat the high scores, however, you have to try harder.
