Art dealers and artists in New York are settling down to think about what’s going to happen to art galleries in the future after several years of a booming art market. Change has been happening in recent years brought about by the closing of many New York Art Galleries.  But they are hopeful that a better change will happen in the long run.
The world of art galleries in New York has been shrinking. A lot of artists and art dealers are alarmed with this change. In fact, there have been several popular New York galleries that had closed in recent months such as Guild & Greyshkul and Cohan & Leslie. Guild & Greyshkul, established by several young artists, was one of the liveliest galleries in the entire Big Apple art scene.

But it had its final exhibition early this year. They say its closing was due to the complications of the artists’ time consumed by running gallery and creating their work. The gallery and the closing of these art galleries may be a sign that running galleries may change in the near future.

Another famous art gallery in New York is Zach Feuer Gallery. Recently it decided to trim down the number of artists they want to represent. In fact, eight artists were removed from their list. This just means that fewer artists will be showcased by the gallery. These may be another signal of changes in the future of New York art galleries.
